Local SEO checklist for NZ service businesses.
Run through this before paying for geo page packs or monthly “SEO retainers.” If the foundations are broken, more pages will not save you.
Foundations
- Site loads fast on mobile (Core Web Vitals green or close)
- One clear primary category and service list on GBP
- NAP consistent across site footer, contact page, and GBP
- LocalBusiness JSON-LD on homepage and location pages
- Sitemap submitted in Google Search Console
- Each location page has unique H1, meta description, and proof
- Internal links between hub, town, and service pages
- Conversion path on every geo page (quote, book, or call)
When to add suburb packs
Add geo pages when you truly serve those suburbs and search volume exists. Absolute House Wash justified 80+ pages because each suburb is a real service boundary with unique copy and internal links.
If you cannot fill a page with proof and FAQs, wait, or start with a district hub instead.
